Introducing Silent Mode – The Diana Award
Anti-bullying charity The Diana Award has partnered Kooth, an online mental heath support service and Revolt, aiming to raise parents’ awareness of bullying with its back to school campaign.
A series of out-of-home executions features three images of young people on phone lock screens, designed to look like parents’ phones. However, the mouths of the children are blocked by a “silent mode” pop-up on the screens.

The outdoor work is accompanied by a 90-second online film, entitled “The Pretender”, featuring a schoolboy who keeps receiving notifications, which he first ignores, then tries to hide from his mother. It is then revealed that the messages are from bullies, with the text on-screen reading: “1 in 3 young people being bullied suffer in silence. Bullying can be loud. But you don’t have to stay silent.”
It was directed by Adam Jaro.
